At University College London, a worlds first is being created and we are thrilled to be a part of it! A Controlled Air Ventilation Environment (CAVE) is a new prestigious facility that will once complete, allow scientists and engineers to understand how airborne particles – including viruses and pollution – move around transport systems and buildings enabling better designs that improve our health and well-being. The world changed as we knew with the arrival of Covid -19 and so research facilities like this will bring great benefits.
Our scope of works being undertaken include:
- Pad foundations
- FM2 floor slab
- Groundworks
It is hoped that CAVE will boost efforts across a broad spectrum of challenges including how to ensure the UK is prepared for future virus outbreaks and demonstrate best practice, and tackle high indoor air pollution levels in cities, which is of increasing concern in an urbanised society.
