In Birmingham, the 10-storey office building project we are working on is progressing at pace. The building spans over 120,000 sq ft and is intended to be used as flexible office space. When complete it will feature a large, open plan reception and collaboration space, cycle storage and kit drying room, showers and a roof garden and will be delivered alongside a new public realm, including improved access to a nearby canal. It will be Birmingham’s first ever smart enabled building, meaning occupants will benefit from smart access control and visitor management, super-fast connectivity, and the ability to control lighting and temperature to reduce CO2 emissions and improve sustainability and wellbeing.
NSC-UK works undertaken include:
• All enabling works including foundations and beams for steel superstructure and waterproofing
• Installation of all drainage and service ducting
• Ground floor slab construction and restoration works along canal (paving etc)
• Access stairs and all site finishing (kerbing, paving and decorative Artevia concrete
The building will have an A-rated energy performance certificate (EPC) together with 100 sqm of photovoltaic solar power, and a combined air source heat pump and chiller system for efficient heating, heat recovery and cooling.
We will be on site for a total of 50 weeks and the overall project is scheduled for completion by late 2022.
