Our team are currently on site in Littlehampton, where a new dual carriageway is being built, replacing the existing single carriageway, to reduce congestion and improve journey times and reliability. Strategically, the dual carriageway will support the provision of at least 800 new homes and 8.95 hectares of new employment space.
The A259 is on the south coast of England passing through Hampshire, West Sussex, East Sussex and Kent, and is the longest Zone 2 A road in Great Britain.
We are undertaking all civils and ground works on this project including:
- Dualling and associated junction works, at junctions 5-6 and 9-11
- Widening of the existing single carriageway
- Construction of an off road pedestrian / cycle route
- Junction improvements to improve capacity & accommodate the new dualled approaches
- All associated drainage
- Lighting
- Signage
- Landscaping and environmental mitigations
This project is one of a number of major schemes being developed to improve the infrastructure in the Arun area over the next three years.
